Why turn-based RPGs feel right on a phone
There's a reason turn-based combat keeps coming back on mobile. You can play it in bursts, pause between turns, and never worry that a phone call will get you killed. Emberfall Saga understands this down to its bones.
Grid combat in particular reads beautifully on a small screen. You can see the whole battlefield, plan a few moves ahead, and tap exactly where you mean to. Compare that to twitchy action games where a sweaty thumb costs you the fight.
My advice for newcomers: don't be afraid to respec. Good mobile RPGs make it cheap on purpose because they expect you to tinker. Treat your build as a draft, not a contract.
The genre also ages well. A turn-based RPG from five years ago still plays fine today, which makes it a safe thing to recommend to a friend without worrying it's dated.
